You’re probably as tired of hearing this as I am, but I can’t believe it’s already September! I can already feel the summer anxiety slide off my shoulders and I’m ready for Autumn to begin. I’ve already ordered everything for my Halloween shop update, but before I tell you all about that, let’s talk about some stuff that has happened lately, upcoming events and some exciting news.
A personal update
As you might have seen on my Instagram stories, I was not able to vend at Marktistiek. Unfortunately I had a car accident the evening prior and had to take the day off to calm down. My car got hit pretty badly, my passenger door/sliding door have a big dent and a lot of the frame is bent out of shape, and the estimated repair costs are between 5.000-6.000 euros. So at the moment I' not able to drive myself to the manga & cosplay festival. Luckily I have the best friend/helper ever and she will be driving me and all of my goodies to Hasselt this weekend, but stock might be limited due to having less space in the car. Therefore if there’s anything you’d like me to bring for you to the festival, be sure to place an order before Friday and select “pick up at event” as your shipping option.
September events
As mentioned above I will be attending the manga & cosplay festival this weekend, on the 7th-8th of September, at the Japanese Garden in Hasselt. It’s a cute outdoor event in a beautiful setting, there’s loads of fun artists, food and entertainment, and cosplayers get a free entrance! It’s honestly one of my favorite events and I’m glad I got a table this year.
Later this month, on the 22nd of September you’ll find me on the veemarkt in Antwerp for Marktistiek. This will be one of those rare events where you don’t have to pay an entrance fee to visit my booth, unlike most comic cons and indoor markets, so be sure to drop by if you’re around. I’m already looking forward to it, but let’s hope there won’t be any accidents the day prior.
Coming soon
Okay, let’s finally talk about the Halloween collection! I won’t be showing any sneak peeks today, BUT I can tell you that the mini collection will consist of a mystery pack (containing a pin, keychain and a sticker) and a stickersheet. I’m hoping to release the collection at the end of September, but we’ll have to pray to the shipping gods that everything arrives in time. More updates and sneak peaks will be posted on my Instagram and Tiktok, so be sure to follow @moris.clothing on both!
Something else that I’ve been working on is a sticker/print club, a membership that sends an exclusive sticker and print made by me to your house every month for a small price. I’m currently in the last phases of setting everything up, but soon you’ll be able to sign up! The main things that was holding me back was the platform on which I’d be hosting the sticker club, mainly debating between ko-fi and Patreon. However apple recently decided to start demanding a 30% cut off of purchases made in app (aka people buying memberships via the app), which means that artists will either have to make their memberships more expensive or take the loss. So ko-fi it is! More info on the sticker club coming this month!
